The Bichon Bug was written by Joan as a bit of light relief from all her conservation articles .

However when other Bichon owners read it they said “OUR Bichon does that! - we thought there was something wrong with him/her.”

Following public demand Joan wrote this sequel about Abigail and Henry accompanying us on a holiday to Wales and the West Country. Their often humorous adventures were likened to the tales told by  James Herriot  

In 1998 we started to help with Bichon Rescue and suddenly we had a third Bichon called Chas living with us! This 6 month old waif from an Irish puppy farm totally disrupted our life and we have constantly wondered where his good/bad switch is!!
